"…for your sakes He became poor…" — 2 Corinthians 8:9

The Lord Jesus Christ was eternally rich, glorious, and exalted. Yet, though He was rich, for our sakes He became poor. He came into this world without setting His hope on worldly things; His focus was the redemption and salvation of the people of the world. His love for us is, without doubt, magnificent.

He came in human form to be well connected with us, and to reconnect us with our Heavenly Father. If Christ had not come into this world, it would have been impossible for us to commune with God, to obey Him, and to be restored to Him. So, for our fellowship with God to be made real, it was necessary that the sinless Son of God should humble Himself, lay down His estate, and give it to the poor.

Through Jesus we are privileged to receive of His fullness, grace upon grace. By our faith and obedience we are fully reconnected with the Lord, and His purpose and plan for us are graciously fulfilled — for we are complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). We are assured by His word that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). In every believer are Christ's love, provision, and protection.

May the love, protection, and blessings of God be upon you. Amen!
