"…though He was the Son, yet He learned obedience…" — Hebrews 5:8
Christ lived in this world in complete obedience to the Father, for our salvation and eternal blessing. The Captain of our salvation suffered to set us free from eternal damnation — a love beyond human knowledge (Ephesians 3:19). Our Master's experience in this world teaches us that suffering and submission to the Father are part of what strengthens us spiritually.
Jesus came into this world to suffer. He had no house, no possessions, no place of His own to call home. His focus was to reconnect us with the Heavenly Father, that we might live with Him forever. And He is not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities (Hebrews 4:15); in Him we have a sustaining power — He sympathizes with us, and He makes us strong.
The love of our Savior will strengthen us as we follow in His steps. Let us be fully obedient to the Lord and do His will, and we will know His joy and His peace. We should not turn aside from the exaltation He promises — for we will be exalted as we live forever with Him, and the joy of the Lord will be our strength always. In every situation, as we submit to Him, we receive from Him.
May the Lord protect you, encourage you, and take good care of you always. Amen!
