It Is Wonderful To Have Direct Access To God!

Matthew 27:51 — the veil was torn from top to bottom. On the end of the old sacrifices, the mercy seat now revealed, and the believer's bold, direct access to the throne of grace.

"…behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom." — Matthew 27:51

God is great — He tore apart the thick, strong veil of the temple. This was not merely a display of His power, but a lesson for us. Our Father put away the old law of commandments contained in ordinances (Ephesians 2:15); for when Jesus Christ died and rose again, the requirement of sacrificing bulls and lambs came to an end, being fulfilled in Him.

The tearing of the veil revealed all that had been hidden under the old dispensation. Now the mercy seat can be seen, shining with the glory of the Lord. Through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, life and immortality were brought to light, and things hidden from the foundation of the world were made manifest in Him.

There is no longer any need for the blood of bulls or lambs, for the Lamb of God has entered and opened the veil with His own blood. So direct access to God is now granted through Christ — the privilege of every believer. We are free to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy (Hebrews 4:16). Christ holds the keys of heaven, and by Him all things work to bring us, as His children, to glory (Hebrews 2:10).

May the Lord God Almighty keep you, that you may live with Him forever. Amen!
