God Is Merciful and Kind!

Matthew 6:26 — your heavenly Father. We are His by creation and by adoption in Christ; on the loving obedience of a child, not the fear of a servant, toward a Father whose love surpasses comprehension.

"…your heavenly Father…" — Matthew 6:26

Those who have submitted to God and obey Him are His children in two unique ways: His offspring by creation, and His children by adoption in Christ. This gives us the privilege to call Him 'our Father in heaven' (Matthew 6:9). And if this is true of us — as, without doubt, it is — then we should honor and obey Him.

Our obedience should be rendered cheerfully; it will indeed be a loving obedience, the kind our Lord deserves. Our relationship with our Heavenly Father is not that of a slave and a taskmaster, but of a child and a loving father. He is worthy that we yield ourselves to Him as instruments of righteousness — this is the Father's will for His children.

The Father's love for us is great, far beyond human comprehension. Remember, the glorious Lord laid down His crown and His life, coming into this fallen world to take away our sins, cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and reconnect us with the Triune God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We have every reason to rejoice, for we are complete in Him (Colossians 2:10).

May the joy of the Lord be your strength, and may you live forever with Him. Amen!
