"…the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous avails much." — James 5:16

The regular prayers of God's children can accomplish great things — far beyond human comprehension. God is always ready to deliver, and to do much more, for those who put their hope and trust in Him. The miraculous deliverance of the Apostle Peter from prison came as a direct result of the fervent, persistent prayers of his fellow believers.

God hears and answers the prayers of His children. Peter's chains fell off by power from on high; the Lord blinded the eyes of the guards as Peter and the angel walked past them and escaped (Acts 12:7-9). God opened the iron gate, and they went out, and no one could stop them. With God, every hindrance, barrier, and obstruction becomes nothing — for the power that is in us as His children is far greater than all.

Like Peter, we need to submit fully to God, be well connected with Him, and serve Him faithfully. The prayer of the brethren moved the finger of God to set Peter free because of his faithfulness. Prayer does great things in the lives of true believers, so let us pray regularly, and pray for one another, for this pleases God.

May God continue to favor you, take good care of you, and meet all your needs. Amen!
